Amspec specialise in providing an integrated design and build service, including commercial fit-out, refurbishment, interior space planning, interior design, bespoke manufacturing and new build services, across all sectors and throughout the North West.

Over the last seventeen years, they have built up an impressive portfolio of projects and clients including Bruntwood, NHS, Mason Partners, Obi Property and Manchester Science Park. The company has delivered a vast number of high-profile projects including Manchester’s Bright Building, the new Bonded Warehouse at the old Granada Studios site, Gary Neville’s Rabbit in the Moon restaurant in Manchester, QVC head office and The Chill Factore Trafford Park, to name just a few.

We’ve recently designed, built and launched a completely new website for Wigan based Amspec - www.amspec.co.uk - which is based on the Umbraco CMS which gives the client complete control over content. We've created some bespoke elements for them, specifically a really neat search function in the projects section, and an involving user experience which incorporates long scrolling pages with jump sections and then layered content with interactive infographics.

Before commencing work on the site design and development, we worked closely with Amspec to ensure the new website was more than simply just a redesign, carrying out a full workshop session with key members of the team to establish the company’s core values and strengths, to define the objectives and user experience requirements for the website, as well as the content strategy. Alongside this, competitor and industry research were conducted and fed in to the design and specification process.

The new website was developed to highlight the strengths of the business and to reflect their brand position, designed to be visually appealing, showcasing the quality and scope of the projects Amspec work on. It was important that the new site also reflected the personality and culture of Amspec, which is made up of an extremely talented and knowledgeable in-house team with high standards.

The new website boasts a fresh, clean design, and intuitive and consistent navigation to help the user find their way around the site with ease. There was no doubt that the newly designed site needed to be fully responsive to accommodate mobile users. Our team of designers and developers kept this mobile focus in mind throughout the design process, making sure the site functioned well on all screen sizes.

The new fully responsive website is built on the Umbraco content management system, and includes some great features including a sophisticated and bespoke faceted search function in the projects section which allows users to view any combination of projects by selecting from criteria including sector, type and scale so the user can quickly search for the examples most relevant to them. We've created two sections which play on the company brand name: perSPECtives includes content for industry and company insights, and retroSPECtive shows how far Amspec has come since its beginning in 2002 with an animated timeline.

Alongside the launch of the new Amspec website, bd2 continue to support their online marketing strategy, managing Google Ad’s and Search Engine Optimisation to increase traffic to the site, and in turn enquiries. We will continue to support, develop and improve the website, which includes adding video content, to enable the user to really get a feel for working with Amspec.

“We’ve worked with Amspec for a while now and have always been impressed with the quality of their work and attention to detail, as well as the visually fantastic projects they’ve produced across the North West. We will continue to support Amspec’s marketing requirements as they grow the business this year.” Will Bentley, bd2.

The new Amspec website www.amspec.co.uk was launched just before the Christmas break to coincide with their move to new, larger premises early in 2019. We’re really proud of the website and the feedback from the client has been extremely positive. To find out more please get in touch with vicky@bd2.co.uk
