We’re delighted to welcome Phil Rainford to bd2 as Test Lead. Phil joins us from Amaze, one of the UK’s largest digital agencies with over 200 staff, where he worked on projects for clients such as Lexus, Virgin and Dyson. Phil has a wealth of experience having worked at Amaze as Senior Test Analyst for over 10 years heading up a team of 8 test analysts plus contractors. Before his time at Amaze, Phil was Test Manager at Accenture working in the finance sector. He is ISEB and ITIL Certified and brings a level of expertise that adds to and compliments our professional team.

Phil tells us;

"Working at bd2 is a complete change for me, but I’m really enjoying the working environment and friendly team as there’s a really nice, relaxed vibe here. And I’m loving the way the company looks after its staff – the free lunches, helping yourself to fruit and the flexibility are great. The bonus for me is the commute; I’d got used to traveling into Manchester, so I didn’t think it bothered me, but now that I’ve halved my journey I’m appreciating getting that time back!”

In addition, Stuart Crossley, digital apprentice, has been at bd2 since September 2016 and has progressed through a structured training programme coordinated by Manchester Digital incorporating boot camps and various courses combined with hands on experience and mentoring at bd2. He has developed his web development skills and has implemented several Umbraco content managed websites. Stuart has recently passed his Microsoft Software Fundamentals exam 98-361 to become Microsoft Certified.

We asked Stuart about his journey so far;

“The Microsoft exam was pretty tough, but I’m really pleased to have got the Certification under my belt. I couldn’t have done it without the training I’ve been through at Manchester Digital but more importantly the support and help I’ve had from the team at bd2 – Sean, James, Paul – they’ve all been really helpful and patient. I’m also really grateful for the time I was given during work to revise and prepare.”
